Chirashi Bowl Lunch & Turkey Pasta Dinner 081409

I usually like to have light lunch at work. Sushi always works for me. Today at work, the sushi chef's special is a chirashi bowl ($6.75), which is traditionally some rice spread in a box or bowl with nine kinds of fish and vegetables scattered on top or mixed in.

The sushi chef is a nice guy and he always let me the picky eater choose the specific fish I like (salmon and yellow tail; but no tuna, no shrimp, tuna, eel, or mackerel). Although it was a busy day at work, the raw fish on brown rice really brightened up my day!

I did not feel overly productive at work, but I found my muse just in time to write an abstract that was due today. I guess I work better under pressure, and if there is no pressure, I would not want to get much done.

In the evening, pre-dinner fruits & veggie smoothie: freshly pressed juice from carrot, purple cabbage, cucumber and celery, then blended with cilantro, kale, clover sprouts, asparagus, blueberries, lemon and orange and kiwi (yes, organic everything).

30 minutes after the smoothie, we had our pasta dinner.
