Dim Sum, Gilroy Gardens & HomeTown Buffet 081509

I love Friday nights. Friday night usually means it is the evening you do no have to worry about going to bed early in order to get up on time the next day for work, and you can stay up late goofing off and doing whatever you want. Last night, we stayed up late watching a NetFlix DVD. Consequently, we woke up around noon today (Saturday). By the time we had our coffee and were ready to go out for lunch (dim sun), it was almost 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Luckily, the dim sum place, Hong Kong Saigon, that we chose today was near our home. After a 20-minutes wait, we got a table and munched on a lot of stuff right away: Shanghai dumplings, BBQ pork bun, sticky rice, egg castards, braised tofu, beef rice noodle etc.

After dim sum, we headed south to the Gilroy Gardens. It was a spontaneous thing. Nice blue sky, great weather, so much to enjoy in life. I used to think that this place is for kids only, but I changed my mind after today's visit. It is a great place with lovely gardening, waterfalls and landscapes, and much more for everyone to enjoy. We especially enjoyed the train ride, the county back road classic car ride, and the rainbow river ride. To make it even more fun, we saw the wonderful "Enchanted Wings" show by many different parrots at the cozy outdoor theater there.






After the fun at the Gilroy Gardens, we visited the nearby Gilroy Premium Outlets. By the time we finished walking around, it was already late at night, and we went to the close by Hometown Buffet for dinner. I usually am not that keen on Hometown because the food quality is so-so. Mo-Mo however likes the casual dinning environment there, and I was surprised at myself that I actually enjoyed tonight's dinner, probably because the meat was not overcooked. To be even more surprised, the coffee at Hometown was hot and fresh, better the Star Bucks.
